Tour Description
This excursion begins when you are picked up directly from your Cruise Ship Pier in Falmouth or resort in Trelawny and taken on a 15 minutes drive along Jamaica’s scenic north coast until we get to a small turn off leading south from the highway on a small dirt road where you can view the lush countryside and beauty of the historic Rio Bueno River with its rapids and pools.
Your River kayaking for two Adventure begins as you cross the “Irie Bridge” and venture on a short walk on a path that runs along the river which leads to open area where you will see your kayak. After some safety instructions from your tour guide and a quick gear check, you will launch your kayak into the river and immediately feel the intense rush and power of the water as you go down stream. This tour is done with two or three guides who lead small groups. The swift currents of the river challenges you and your partner to paddle through various areas of exciting white water rapids as you go down stream.
The flow of the river carries you over a variety of water rapids that awakens your senses and revive your spirit. Your guides will be in the lead as you navigate past each section of the seven rapids on this river course. Take some time to admire the natural beauty of the surrounding river valley, filled with many species of Jamaican plant and animal life. Next, we will make a small midway stop where you can take a plunge into the river off a 15-20 foot cliff or do the swing from a rope across the river.
Your river Kayaking adventure excursion then takes you pass over a small waterfall for one last thrill in the splashing water. Finally you will paddle at your own pace along with the tranquil currents that follow and enter the warm waters of the Caribbean Sea.
Once here you may have some beach time , go for a swim enjoy the sun and have a cool drink at the bar before returning to your Cruise Ship Pier in Falmouth or Trelawny resort.
The following options are also available after your excursion:
- Enjoy some Jamaican lunch, this includes authentic spicy Jamaican Jerked Pork or Chicken along with unique side orders like Festivals and Bammy (the cost of lunch is not included in the rate).
- Duty Free Shopping in town by the Craft Market.
We also offer private group tours!
Review - White Water River Kayaking Adventure Tour for 2 on the Rio Bueno River From Falmouth
Re: White Water kayaking from Falmouth

I was reluctant at first because I didn’t know what an excursion independent of the cruise line was like and didn’t want to waste my day in port, but this worked out quite fine. I have twin teenage boys and they just loved the kayaking on the river.
Take care and say hi to Lavern for me.
Regards,
Tracey

Hi Dwight,
We almost didn’t book it because there was only one review which would’ve been a pity. It was our favorite excursion of all the ones we did. However, we would recommend the single kayaks for anyone who wishes to choose the excursion. We can’t imagine it being as fun in the bigger one with multiple people. Our guide Elvis was the best! Patient, kind and thoughtful. We wished we had more cash on us to give him a better tip, he deserved it! The walk through the forest en route to the beginning of our ride was just lovely, with the Amazonian-like giant trees throughout almost blocking the skies made us felt like we were in a jungle. Adjacent to where the kayaking tour began there’s a beautiful waterfall, Elvis took us over to enjoy this refreshingly chilled water and he snapped some lovely pictures for our memory bank. Did I say he was a great photographer too?! Similarly when we got to the diving area, which was absolutely gorgeous with the pristine turquoise water and the lush bamboos which add to the picturesque view. He was patient with our picture snaps and video recording. He even attempted to capture our dive on video for us but I must say he needs more practice. He failed the first attempt but nailed the 2nd attempt. We look forward to to our next trip because we have to do this again!
All the best!
