Tour Description

Any family will enjoy this adventure! You will be picked up at your cruise ship pier or Hotel in Ocho Rios by one of our friendly guides who will take you in an air-conditioned van or bus on a 30 minute ride along Jamaica's scenic north to the stables.

This is truly a fun and enjoyable experience for the whole family! Our horseback riding tour goes through the scenic countryside, onto the shores and swimming bareback with the horses on a beautiful, private beach, experiencing the beautiful rural Jamaican landscape – frolic and revel in the warm Caribbean Sea.

Upon your arrival at the stables, Our trail masters will find a horse suitable to your riding experience. This tour takes you for one of the most unforgettable Caribbean experiences. This horse-riding trail takes you to see panoramic views of Jamaican picturesque mountains and coastline.

Your horseback riding begins at the Sand n' Saddle picturesque private beach. You will receive a safety briefing before setting out on your ride. Helmets are provided and are mandatory to be worn. Your ride will be slow along the trail as most riders are not experienced. Your guide will point out the variety of local vegetables grown by farmers on the rural trail, which will lead you onto a stretch of white sandy beach, where you will experience the tranquil beauty of the Caribbean Sea. Next is a trail that takes you back to the private beach. On arrival at the beach the guides will assist you to dismount your horse so that you can get ready for the swim. Enjoy this once in a Lifetime experience of being on your horse in the sea. When the tide is high your horse will actually swim.

Next, enjoy an exciting river boarding adventure on the historic Rio Bueno river.

Your kayaking Adventure begins as you cross the “Irie Bridge” and venture on a short hiking trail through the rain forest. After some safety instructions from guides, crab a kayak and enter the Rio Bueno River, immediately you will feel the exhilarating rush of the river currents. This tour is done with two or three guides who lead small groups.

The flow of the river carries you over a variety of water rapids that awakens your senses and revives your spirit. Your guides will be in the lead as you navigate past each section of the seven rapids on this river course. Take some time to admire the natural beauty of the surrounding river valley, filled with many species of Jamaican plant and animal life. Next, we will make a small midway stop where you can take a plunge into the river off a 15-20 foot cliff or do the swing from a rope across the river.

Your river kayaking adventure excursion then takes you over a small waterfall for one last thrill in the splashing water. Finally you will paddle along with the tranquil currents that follow and enter the warm waters of the Caribbean Sea.

Once here you may have some beach time , go for a swim, enjoy the sun and have a cool drink at the bar before returning to your Cruise Ship Pier in Ocho or Ocho Rios resort.
